I have to admit, I teared up a little when I read this. But then, I'm a sucker for romance:

it's likely that the grand jury verdict on the michael brown incident will be released in the coming days or weeks.. i've no doubt many people are going to feel strongly about things whatever the verdict is.. whatever the outcome though, here's what's not going to happen:.
we're not going to put up with inflamatory language and comments designed to rile others up.
be respectful.. we will not allow accusations of racism simply because some have a view of the verdict that contradicts others.. there will not be invented evidence or claims being repeated - if it's been falsely reported or debunked then it's off limits.. it's not going to be an opportunity for people to air past gripes over past discussions.. if you feel that you cannot discuss the subject in a rational way then it may be better to simply avoid any topics on the matter.. please try to be objective and respectful if you do decide to comment and not keen to take offense.
I can't remember if the suport / opposition was divided over racial lines back then?
It was a textbook example of a racially divisive case.
I have my doubts that discussion of the Michael Brown verdict, whatever it is, will play out as you are hoping, because people just can't help themselves. But I'm hoping as you are.
How about being interviewed by Howard Stern?
That would be a good follow up to porn star mud wrestling.

the researchers created an experiment that made some participants feel a ghost was present in the room.
feelings of a ghostly presence - the sense that someone is close-by when no-one is there - lie in the mind, a study has concluded.. scientists say that they have identified the parts of the brain that are responsible for generating these spooky sensations.. they have also created an experiment that makes some people feel like there is a ghost nearby.. the research is published in the journal current biology.. there are many tales of the paranormal, but an often-reported phenomenon is that of the invisible apparition.. dr giulio rognini, from the swiss federal institute of technology (epfl), says: "the sensation is very vivid.
So you're telling me everything they've discovered on "Ghost Hunters" is bogus? I'm speechless.
took one of my cats to the vet two weeks ago, she gets dermatitis from flea bites and although she gats flea treatment every four weeks the skin problem flares up about every two years.
so i asked for her usual steroid tablets which clear it up in about a week but no this young vet about 25 thought she should have a steroid injection and an antibiotic.
didn't work and she's much worse.. went back today and another vet said can't give you the tablets because the injection is still in her system and lasts 6 weeks.
I think there are good and bad, as with every field. I don't think 2 is enough of a sample pool to declare them all bad.
calling all tos, tng, ds9, voyager, or enterprise fans, what's your favorite serries and why?
and what's your favorite episode and why?.
(too many choices on netflix for me to decide which to watch right now).
The Nexus appealed to me: "it was like being inside joy". It reminded me of what Gods Kingdom will be like.
From what I recall from the movie, the nexus destroyed everything in its path, and created a false sense of joy for everyone who got caught up in it.

Was a huge fan of TNG. Favorite episode was "Yesterday's Enterprise" where they alter the present by rescuing a ship from the past that is caught in a time rift. They resurrect Tasha Yar for that one episode.
The one where Picard gets captured by the Borg was a great episode, too.
syneidos posted some interesting information on reddit regarding jw.org's latest project for the upcomming 2015 memorial campaign.. for next year's 2015 memorial campaign, jw.org is producing an invitational video featuring jesus.
the video is still being filmed at the moment and i was told it was super "confidential.
" my source already saw several scenes from it and said, "it looks and feels like a cinematic movie.
Except we go to watch Iron Man to be entertained, no one really believes he's going to be our savior when Loki, erm, I mean Satan attacks.
Of course not. That's what Thor is there for.
i hope i don't come across as judgemental but having read a lot on the current child abuse cases and the different threads on here, i am left wondering why on earth a parent of an abuse victim would go to an elder with the problem first and not straight to police?.
as a parent myself i know that if anything like that happend to my child (this applies to when i was still an active jw as well as now) i would not hesitate in going to the authorities as soon as i found out, it wouldn't of crossed mine or my husbands mind to go to an elder.
maybe after we had reported it but definitely never as the first port of call.
I would think that the better question would be: Why doesn't the abused child go directly to the police?
I think the natural instinct of a child, especially a young one, is to go their parents believing they will be a comfort and protection.
in another thread i raised the point " there are moderate muslims but their is no moderate islam".
now i must face the fact i have muslim friends who say they believe the koran.. well i have asked these muslim friends, if they have investigated the origins of the koran.
they have answerd " yes".
Nice people doesn't mean their religion is nice or above critisism.
Perfectly stated!
